Audition Information

B.F.A. Audition/Interview Information

Required only for B.F.A. Acting applicants.

Please prepare two contrasting monologues: either one contemporary and one classical (written before 1850) or two contemporary (one comedic/one dramatic) of no more than two minutes each. Be prepared to improvise if requested. All B.F.A. Acting applicants are encouraged to attend a live audition. However, if you are unable to visit one of our audition locations, please submit a recorded audition along with your supplemental application. All recordings must be submitted in U.S. format. To schedule an audition, complete the supplemental application and select your desired city. A confirmation will be mailed to you.

*A note about monologue selection: Please do not use a dialect or a role that would be considered highly stylized.

M.F.A. Acting Audition Information

Priority application deadline: January 8, 2010

Final application deadline: February 13, 2010

 In order to apply to the M.F.A. program in Acting, all applicants MUST audition.  Please prepare two contrasting two-minute monologues: one classical (plays before 1850) and one contemporary.  Auditions for fall 2010 admission are as follows:

NOTE: Walk-in auditions will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis given space availability.

At the conclusion of the audition tour, a select number of applicants will be invited to USC for the final callback.  Students admitted into the program will be selected from this group of students.  Callbacks are scheduled for March 6 & 7, 2010 on the USC campus in Los Angeles.

International Students

We gladly welcome applications from students of foreign institutions.  Please keep in mind, however, that our training program is intended for American theatre.  With that said, all applicants must be able to speak fluent English.
