Matt WalkerAdjunct Faculty
Matt Walker has worked as a professional in theater, film, television, opera, theme park and circus. As artistic director of The Troubadour Theater Company since 1995, he has directed numerous shows, including Twelfth Dog Night, Alice In-One-Hit-Wonderland and Much A Doobie Bros About Nothing (LADCC Awards), and received the 2006 OC Weekly Theater Award for Career Achievement and the 2007 LADCC Award for Sustained Excellence in Theater. Walker has trained with notable performers and organizations including, Bill Irwin, Denis LeCombe (Cirque du Soleil), Rachel Rosenthal, Second City, The Royal Shakespeare Co., and The San Francisco Mime Troupe. He is also a graduate of Ringling Bros. Clown College and has performed with The Greatest Show on Earth. From 2003-2006, Walker was adjunct professor of Clowning and Commedia at the University of California at San Diego. Most recently, he has written and directed a show for Universal Studios/Orlando, featuring Christopher Walken and Dywane Johnson, served as associate director to Garry Marshall on Happy Days the Musical and directed the world premiere production of Million Dollar Quartet at The Seaside Music Theater in Daytona, FL. For television, he has directed numerous shows including, Dinner & A Movie (TBS), Dude Room (Discovery), Saturday Night Solution (Court TV). Matt has appeared in numerous film and television projects since joining SAG in 1987. Future projects include original productions for Cal Rep, USC and The Getty Villa. |
