Sibyl Wickersheimer
Assistant Professor
Sibyl Wickersheimer is a set designer, teacher, and fine artist based in Los Angeles where she lives with her husband, Shane Acker. Sibyl received an M.F.A. in Set Design from the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television in 1999.
In 2009 thus far, Sibyl designed Our Mother’s Brief Affair, a new play by Richard Greenberg directed by Pam Mackinnon for South Coast Repertory, No Way To Treat A Lady at the Colony Theatre, Love Water by Jacqueline Wright produced by Ensemble Studio Theatre and The Open Fist, Brand New Kid for South Coast Repertory, The Trial of the Catonsville 9 for The Actors’ Gang, The Rover for the USC School of Theatre and Eclipsed by Danai Gurira, directed by Robert O’Hara at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.
Internationally, Sibyl's work has been seen in five continents; The Actor's Gang tour of 1984, directed by Tim Robbins, The Trial of the Catonsville 9, and Hand2Mouth's Dos Pueblos. Nationally, Sibyl has designed at Lookingglass Theatre in Chicago, The Berkeley Repertory, the National Theatre Conservatory in Denver, The Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, Utah Musical Theatre, the Milagro Theatre in Portland, and at sea on the Disney Cruise Ship, 'The Wonder', where Toy Story the Musical continues performances daily
